Carers Week 2025: Caring About Equality
Carers Week 2025 takes place from Monday 9th to Sunday 15th June, and this year’s powerful theme is “Caring About Equality.” It’s a timely reminder that every carer deserves recognition, respect, and the same opportunities as everyone else—no matter their background, age, or circumstances.
At Bridgit Care, we believe in levelling the playing field for unpaid carers, providing personalised support and guidance that meets each person where they are. This week is about amplifying the voices of carers who are too often unheard, and calling on society to do more—together.
🧭 Why “Caring About Equality” Matters
Unpaid carers face barriers that others simply don’t. Whether it’s reduced access to education or employment, mental health struggles, financial stress, or navigating complex systems—these challenges are not experienced equally. For many young carers, their caring role is invisible. For others, language, location, or limited support networks compound their isolation.
Equality means action—ensuring carers have access to:
Clear information and guidance
Tailored services that reflect their needs
Opportunities for respite, growth, and wellbeing
Carers are the backbone of our communities, and Carers Week is a vital moment to put fairness and visibility at the heart of the conversation.
🫱🏼🫲🏾 What You Can Do This Carers Week
Whether you’re a carer yourself, a friend, employer, or community member—you can help champion equality for carers:
Listen to carer experiences and share their stories.
Promote inclusive support—signpost people to resources like Bridgit Care’s 24/7 platform.
Get involved locally—join or host a community event that celebrates and includes carers.
Raise awareness on social media using #CarersWeek2025 and #CaringAboutEquality.
Small actions can lead to big change—and this week, every gesture counts.
🚗 Bridgit Care’s Carers Week: Listening, Learning & Celebrating in North Ayrshire
This Carers Week, I’ll be heading to North Ayrshire to connect with our brilliant partners at Unity Enterprise, a team doing fantastic work supporting local carers.
Our plans include:
🤝 Collaborating with Unity Enterprise to deepen our local partnerships
🧠 Gaining insight into the lived experiences of carers and young carers in the region
📣 Gathering feedback to enhance Bridgit Care’s digital tools, toolkits, and AI coaches
🎉 Taking part in a Family Fun Day at Kelburn Castle on Saturday, celebrating carers in a relaxed, welcoming space
The Kelburn Castle event is more than just a fun day out—it’s an opportunity to engage directly with families, hear what matters most to them, and co-create better solutions for support. By truly listening, we can build a stronger, more inclusive future for carers everywhere.
