Bridgit Care & Carers Trust: A Partnership to
Transform Carer Support
A Personal Message from Darren Crombie, Founder of Bridgit Care
At Bridgit Care, our mission has always been simple—to support unpaid carers across the UK. Last year, we reached a point where we had grown as large as we had planned, and we began considering what was next.
Then, during conversations with Carers Trust, everything clicked. They showed us an opportunity we couldn’t ignore—the chance to extend our support to their vast network of local carer charities, covering 80% of the UK. Instead of growing for growth’s sake, we decided to focus on what truly matters: strengthening carer services and making a bigger impact together.
Why Carers Trust Members Matter
Unpaid carers are the backbone of the UK’s health and social care system. Around 10.58 million people provide care for loved ones, saving the economy an estimated £119 billion per year. But many carers struggle to find the right support when they need it.
That’s where Carers Trust members come in. These incredible local charities work day in and day out to support carers—offering advice, respite care, emotional support, and access to vital resources. They’re at the heart of carer support, yet they often face growing demand with limited funding and stretched resources.
Instead of competing with these organisations, we’ve chosen to work behind the scenes, giving them the tools to expand their reach, improve their services, and ultimately support more carers. Our technology makes it easier for them to scale, streamline admin tasks, and demonstrate their impact to funders—all without increasing their workload.
The Essentials and Integrated Solutions
Carers Trust members already do an amazing job, but many struggle with time-consuming admin, service coordination, and proving their impact. Our digital solutions strengthen their current support models and allow them to scale without adding extra work.
We also recognise that not every charity has the budget to invest in new technology. That’s why we’ve subsidised the Essentials version—so even those with limited funds can benefit from digital transformation. Our hope is that this will help them grow, secure more funding, and eventually transition to the Integrated version, a long-term, scalable solution.
- Essentials – Affordable, High-Impact Support
For just £750 per month, this solution includes:
- Core AI coaches and toolkits for self-help, advice, and signposting.
- Pre-built campaigns for GP outreach, social media, and Google Ads to promote services.
- Basic reporting on reach, engagement, and early outcomes.
- Local branding, automated support emails, and an admin portal to configure services.
- Integrated – A Long-Term, Scalable Solution
For organisations looking for a more comprehensive solution, Integrated provides:
- Integrated pathways with system integration, automated check-ins, and partner access.
- Advanced analytics and reporting to support funding applications and impact measurement.
- Extended AI coach teams, toolkits, and a carer service portal for direct engagement.
- Enhanced campaign support, including ad management guidance and VCSE promotion.
By equipping carer charities with these digital tools, we aim to reduce admin time, improve reporting for commissioners and funders, and expand the reach of support services to more carers in need.
Using Data to Strengthen Carers Trust’s Influence
With the number of unpaid carers rising dramatically, it’s more important than ever to ensure they get the recognition and support they deserve.
One of the biggest challenges in lobbying for change is data. Many carer services struggle to collect and present clear evidence of their impact. Our partnership with Carers Trust will change that. By working closely with Carers Trust members, we can improve the quality of data collected and shared with Carers Trust Central, helping them advocate for policy changes, secure funding, and push for carers to be prioritised on a national level.
A Commitment to Doubling Impact
Darren Crombie, Founder of Bridgit Care, says:
“Our objective is to double every Carers Trust member’s social impact through our partnership approach and solutions. By working together, we can provide more efficient support, reduce administrative burdens, and give carers access to the help they need, when they need it.”
Why This Matters for Carers Trust Members
- More Time for Carers – Our AI-powered tools reduce admin work, allowing charities to focus on supporting people rather than paperwork.
- Better Funding Opportunities – Stronger data collection makes it easier to demonstrate impact and secure long-term funding.
- Scalable Growth – Start with the Essentials version and grow into the Integrated version as funding increases.
- Stronger Together – This isn’t just tech; it’s a partnership designed to support carer organisations, not replace them.
What’s Next?
We’re kicking off this partnership at an upcoming Carers Trust event in Yorkshire, where we’ll be meeting local carer organisations, sharing platform updates, and listening to the voices of carers themselves.
This is just the beginning. By strengthening the organisations that carers rely on, we can create a lasting impact—together.
If you’re part of a carer charity, a Carers Trust member, or an organisation that wants to better support carers, we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s work together to build a stronger, more supportive network for unpaid carers across the UK.
